ISAR

About I.S.A.R. Germany

International Search and Rescue is a non profit organisation in Germany. It is a team of rescue specialists from different fire departments within the state of North Rhine Westfalia.

Their objective is to give assistance for
- missing persons
- structural collapses
- explosions
- earthquakes
and to provide highly trained professional teams for rapid deployment anywhere in the world, especially through the use of
- rescue dogs
- technical equipment
- infrastructure
so maximum efficiency can be achieved in the rescue efforts.

The members of ISAR Germany are experts in the technical field of the fire Department with a medical component.

The rescue-engineering department of the University of Cologne is assisting ISAR Germany scientifically.

After proper notification ISAR Germany can offer the following rescue services within a short period of time:
- Experienced rescue dog teams to locate missing and injured person
- Technical search equipment such as robotic cameras
- Satellite guided communication

For international operations, such as earthquakes, ISAR Germany is available to the national disaster relief authority and can be deployed anywhere in the world within 6 hours.

The locating team can be requested through the operation centre of the Duisburg fire department. Within Germany their operations are considered Interdepartmental assistance for other rescue organisations under the German Administration / Operations laws.

As a non – profit organisation ISAR Germany can be supported through donations. You can also help ISAR Germany with passive membership.
