See here... IRC Three Peaks ChallengeSaturday 9th June 2007, and a band of hopefuls set off for the 26 mile three-peaks trek - all in aid of IRC funds - see here. One of the most important activities many IRC members take part in is fundraising. The International Rescue Corps is a charity and we get no official funding - almost all the money we need to operate with comes from members raising funds through sponsorship and a range of events such as giving talks, attending shows or providing event support. We'll try to bring you some news from some of our events through these pages. Have a look at a fancy dress party run by new IRC member Mark Saunders; there's also a sponsored walk by 9-year-old Annabelle Charlotte Finch - you're never too young to support our work. IRC and the Mia-Lucy Rose TrustOn July 9th 3 members of International Rescue Corps
attended the Trim Trail Grand Opening Day organised by the Mia-Lucy Rose Trust.
David and Helen Lambard and Tracy Bowen all from IRC’s Eastern region, attended
the day on behalf of IRC to accept a cheque from the trust. The opening of the
Trim Track went very well with about 200+ people attending. Louis de Bernieres,
author of Captain Corelli's Mandolin, presented the cheque. Mark Rose introduced the corps and explained how IRC had offered to help out and then asked Helen to speak about the work of the Corps. He then proceeded to hand over the cheque. A competition was held with lots of teams of people
competing against the Helen Lambard, an operational member said: “All in all it was a very successful day and we were proud to be a part of it. The family were SO very appreciative and it was a delight to be a part of their day.” The family have a number of events planned which are in aid of the corps. IRC has offered to work with them in any way we can to offer support. |
